The Astrodome was home to the Houston Astros from 1965 until 1999, at which time they moved into Enron Field. I never did see a game here and was not able to get inside on my visit in 2008. From everything I've heard, it wasn't a great place to see a game. But the Astrodome will go down as one of the great engineering marvels in history. Being the first dome ever built, it was dubbed "the eighth wonder of the world". The future of the Astrodome is unclear. With Reliant Stadium right next door, it does not receive much use anymore. At some point it will probably be knocked down to make way for commercial development.
