I went to the old Dwyer Stadium in 1993, just 2 years before it was torn down and replaced by the new Dwyer Stadium in the exact same spot. The park did not meet minor league specs, so the team obviously felt it would be better just to build a new park. Old Dwyer Stadium may not have been in the best condition, but it was still a fine place to see a game. The small wooden grandstand was a classic - the only one similar to it that still remains is that at Wahconah Park in Pittsfield. Besides the grandstand there were wooden bleachers down both lines. Concessions were located behind the grandstand and bleachers sections. Old Dwyer Stadium was just a nice, quaint, charming place to watch a game.
