|Harbor Park was built 1993 and within a few years it had been rated the best minor league stadium by Baseball America. I don't completely agree with that, though. It is a nice new park, but there are still others I like better. Harbor Park seats 12,000 - 3,000 of them in the two upper deck sections split by the luxury and press boxes. The concourse area which overlooks the field, is very spacious and filled with concession stands as well as other entertainment before the game. The setting is attractive, especially during the daylight hours. As its name would suggest it sits right on the edge of the harbor. Several large boats can be seen beyond the right field fence. Most of the seating is quite close to the action, though the upper deck seats feel like they are a ways from the field. Concessions and souvenirs are reasonable priced, though I was disappointed with their $3 programs that were basically 120 pages of ads. The Tides have what is perhaps the ugliest mascot that I have seen - Riptide. All he does is shoot t-shirts into the crowd. They only do a couple on-field promotion - dizzy bat race and race the mascot. Overall, a nice clean stadium.
