Recreation Park
Montpelier, Vermont
Recreation Park is a WPA ballpark built in 1940. While it has never hosted professional baseball, amateur teams in the old Northern League and more recently the New England Collegiate Baseball League have called this park home. The most famous player to ever take the field here at Recreation Park is Hall of Famer Robin Roberts who played two seasons in Montpelier. The ballpark features a large covered grandstand behind home plate which contains all the seating. Green mountains provide the backdrop for the ballpark making it unmistakeable where you are. Recreation Park is certainly worth a look if you're in the area and love old ballparks.
