Washington Park is a rather unique park for California as it actually features a covered grandstand. It was a WPA era ballpark, which probably explains the design. It its 75 year history, Washington Park has only hosted professional baseball for one season - that was 1979 when the Santa Clara Padres of the California League played here. Apparently the park still gets plenty of use from amateur teams. I was unable to get inside during my 2010 visit.
