| Artillery Park was home to numerous Wilkes-Barre professional teams during the first half of the 20th century, mostly as part of the New York-Penn and Eastern Leagues. It is not clear when it was built, though it was definitely around in 1926 when Babe Ruth played an exhibition game here. Today, just a ball field exists on the site, though presumably there was a grandstand of some sort at one time. In 2012, a kiosk was constructed to commemorate a long home run that was hit by Babe Ruth here during his 1926 visit. The kiosk indicates that it is the longest known home run that Ruth ever hit - some 650 feet. It is located close to the place where the ball landed, which is between where a softball field and track not reside. Wilkes-Barre has not hosted professional baseball since 1955, though its name is on the current team which plays 15 miles north in Moosic.
