Fuessenich Park was apparently used for professional baseball for just one season - in 1950 the Torrington Braves of the short lived Colonial League called this park home. It is unknown, however, if the ballpark that stands here now resembles that which the Braves used. The park is now home to the Torrington Twisters of the NECBL, a collegiate summer league sanctioned by MLB. Renovations were made to Fuessenich Park sometime in the 1990's, presumably before the Twisters started playing here in 1997. All new box seats were added to the grandstand behind home plate. Wooden benches remain in the sections along the first base side. The park is located off of Main Street, just a short distance from downtown Torrington. While professional baseball will never return to Fuessenich Park (though it came close in 1995 when the Northeast League wanted to put a team here), the NECBL provides a nice alternative to a small community like Torrington.
