Grider Stadium only has a brief history of hosting a professional team. In 1997, the Tullahoma Walkers of the Big South League called this ballpark home. But the team did not even last a full season before becoming a road team and then folding with the rest of the league. Grider Stadium is actually a charming old ballpark. The covered grandstand behind home plate appears to be in great shape still. The most unique aspect of this ballpark is the small hill behind home plate. According to site visitor Joe Moon, the ballpark was actually moved from the Athens-Decatur area of Alabama where it was dismantled and then reassembled in Tullahoma. While not likely to ever host pro baseball again, Grider Stadium is certainly a treasure worth finding is you're in the area.
