Williamsport is probably best known for hosting the Little League World Series every summer, but they also have a long history of hosting a minor league club. Bowman Field is a classic minor league park featuring a covered grandstand. Prior to the 2000 season, over $1 million was put into the park for improvements. Most of it went towards improving the concourse area, which is located behind the grandstand. A large concession stand was added with a good variety of affordable food. Also a souvenir store was built, but is so small that it feels crowded when more than 5 people are in it. A new roof was also put on the grandstand. Most of the seating is metal benches, with just 5 rows of box seats close to the field. A simple scoreboard is located in right field. The park is located in a city park and parking is free. The Crosscutters have a mascot but he was not on hand the night I was there as the Pirate Parrot was there to entertain. Bowman Field, the second oldest park in the affiliated minor leagues, is a fine place to take in a game.
